900g pork ribs 2 tbsp malt vinegar * 2 tbsp sesame oil * 3 tbsp sherry * 1 tbsp honey/ or other liquid sugar type stuff if not got * 90ml rice wine vinegar or white vinegar will do * 4 tbsp soy sauce dark variety * 2 tbsp ground ginger * 2 garlic cloves peeled & crushed * grated zest of one lime * 4 tbsp soft brown sugar * 1/2 tsp chinese five spice powder*
Method
prep 15 mins roughly cook 1hr 20 mins
wash and dry the ribs mix together all ingredients marked with a * above into a bowl or jug using a pastry brush , brush the mixture over the ribs cover pan in foil & cook on a high heat say 220c for 30 minutes basting aT SEVERAL times during that period when 30 minutes have past reduce temp to 190-200c & cook for another 20 minutes again basting the ribs to really coat them remove foil here
You can pre do the sauce early n let ribs marinate in it if like get better results but leave up to you
serve with what ever you like maybe a nice chow mein or stir fry? | |
