PREPARATIONS To do this successfully you will need a few things first and a purpose. while getting all your things together think about what your purpose is, although it is recommended you don't travel far, better yet stay in the same room, just until you get the hang of how it works. Before you start you need to have a bowl of water and a bowl of salt by your bed bless both and sprinkle some of each in the 4 corners of your room, this ensures you are working in a purified area. Like with meditation you need to make sure you chose a time and place where you wont be disturbed. You may also want to light a candle for your journey, but be sure to keep it away from pets and flammable materials. You may want to remove any jewelery and make sure your clothing isnt too tight and that the temperature of the room you are doing it in is set to a comfortable level, many people tend to get cold during astral travel so if your not sure have a blanket to hand.
Instructions Lie down in a comfortable position with arms and leg uncrossed. Take 3 deep breaths, in through the nose and out through the mouth, and imagine yourself surrounded by white light. and simply tell each part of your body to relax. Work through your whole body. When you are completely relaxed focus on your 'third eye' (the spot on your forehead between your eyes) and imagine yourself moving out from there. You may feel a bit floaty or feel a slight tingle or even a tickle on your face, this is completely normal, don't freak out, just go with it. if you jerk or brush your face or move in any way you will have to start again (and believe me you will have some false starts) This is the hardest part of doing it, learning to 'let go'. once you have done this and managed to 'let go' you have done the hardest part, Once you are out of your body try to explore your surroundings i reccommend not travelling too far away from your body the first few times.
To come back, as it were, all you need to do is visualize yourself returning to your body. once you have come back to yourself lie as still as possible for about 3-5 mins. count to 5 and open your eyes. ONCE YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY MANAGED TO HAVE YOUR OBE, DO NOT TRY AGIN FOR AT LEAST 24 HOURS. IT IS A VERY TIRING THING FOR YOUR BODY AND IT NEEDS TIME TO RECOUPERATE.
It is possible for more advanced experienced people to do this more than once in a day, but if you are new to it i would not advise attempting it. | |
